  • Cashpot for Moorlands community organisations

    The funding will help older people in the region
    Groups for older people in Leek and the rest of the Moorlands will soon be able to apply for a share of a £40,000 cashpot. The council have set up an Older People's Innovation Fund as a pilot scheme to help community run group projects.   • Jubilee trees having to be 'monitored'

    Leek Town Council have revealed that they have to 'regularly monitor' trees planted to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee after a batch was stolen earlier this year. 420 saplings were awarded to the council by the Woodland Trust and then planted in local parks by volunteers.
